Hey everyone! I’ve been exploring ways to integrate my smart lighting setup with the HomeMatic IP system and I’m excited to share my journey. I’ve got these LED lamps that I currently control with a physical switch, and I’m wondering if I can replicate that functionality within the HomeMatic ecosystem. Right now, pressing the switch once turns them on or off, and holding it adjusts the brightness. It would be fantastic to maintain this functionality while also being able to control everything through the HomeMatic app.
I’ve done some research and it seems like the HMIP-SMI switch might be the key here, but I’m not entirely sure how to configure it to handle both on/off and dimming commands. Has anyone successfully set something like this up? I’d love to hear about your experiences or any tips you might have.
Additionally, I’m curious if there are any potential drawbacks or limitations I should be aware of before diving into the setup. I want to make sure I’m not missing anything that could affect the overall performance of my smart home system.
Looking forward to your insights and any advice you can offer! Let’s make my lighting setup as seamless and intuitive as possible. ![]()
