Hello everyone, I’m excited to share my recent experience with integrating smart lighting using Philips Hue bulbs and Google Assistant. After doing some research online, I discovered that you can connect up to 50 lamps (with a maximum of 63 in reality) to a single Hue bridge and control them via Google Assistant. However, if you have more than 50 lamps, you would need an additional bridge, which unfortunately means you can’t control the lamps from the second bridge using Google Assistant. This seemed quite inconvenient to me, as I wanted to manage all my lights seamlessly without switching between accounts.
I stumbled upon a solution that involves using Homey, a smart home hub, to overcome this limitation. By setting up Homey, I was able to integrate all my Philips Hue lamps into a single ecosystem, allowing me to control them effortlessly through Google Assistant without the hassle of multiple accounts or bridges. This setup has been a game-changer for my home automation journey, providing a more unified and user-friendly experience.
I would love to hear from others who have successfully integrated multiple lighting systems or have tips on optimizing smart lighting setups. Feel free to share your experiences or any innovative solutions you’ve come across! Happy automating!
