Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience setting up smart lighting in my home using the Sonoff 4CH outdoor switch. It’s been a fantastic journey, and I’ve learned a few things along the way that I’d love to share with you!
First off, I placed my Sonoff 4CH outdoors in my garden, which was a bit of a challenge due to the WiFi signal strength being around -83dBi. But hey, that’s part of the fun, right? I’ve noticed that the onboard relay switches to “off” after a signal loss or when I reboot Home Assistant. While this isn’t a huge issue when the relay was already off, it does reset the state when it was on. I’ve been researching the best way to recover the last relay state before the signal loss, and I’d love to hear your thoughts on this!
One thing I’ve really appreciated is how easy it is to integrate the Sonoff 4CH with my existing smart home setup. The ability to control lights remotely and automate them based on my schedule has completely transformed my outdoor lighting experience. It’s also been great to see how reliable the device is despite the occasional signal hiccup.
If you’re considering setting up smart lighting outdoors, I’d highly recommend the Sonoff 4CH. It’s affordable, versatile, and works seamlessly with Home Assistant. Just be prepared for a bit of trial and error when it comes to optimizing the WiFi signal in outdoor spaces!
Looking forward to hearing your experiences and tips on maintaining device connectivity and state persistence. Let’s keep the smart home innovations flowing! ![]()
