Smart Lighting Setup and Automation Tips for Beginners

I’ve been diving into the world of smart lighting lately, and it’s been an incredible journey! :rocket: I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips for anyone looking to get started with smart lighting systems.

First off, I’ve been using Govee LED strip lights in my living room, and they’ve completely transformed the ambiance. The ability to control the color temperature and brightness via my phone has been a game-changer. I’ve also set up some basic automations using SmartThings, like turning the lights on when I walk into the room or dimming them during movie nights.

One thing I’ve learned is the importance of choosing the right sensor. I initially tried a basic motion sensor, but it wasn’t sensitive enough for my needs. After some research, I upgraded to a Aeotec MultiSensor 6, and it’s made a huge difference in reliability and accuracy.

I’d love to hear from others who’ve experimented with smart lighting! What are your favorite setups or automations? Any tips for someone just starting out? Let’s share our experiences and help each other create the perfect smart home setup! :bulb::sparkles:
