I’ve been using a combination of devices, including the Meross RGBW table light and some Govee LED strips, and it’s been a fantastic journey. The Meross lamp, in particular, has been a great addition for notifications and ambiance. It works seamlessly with SmartThings, Alexa, and HomeKit, though I noticed some differences in features across platforms.
One thing I really appreciate is the tap control on the Meross lamp. It makes adjusting the brightness or color super convenient without needing to reach for my phone. However, I did run into a minor issue where the app doesn’t always show the current color setting, which can be a bit confusing. I’ve found that checking the lamp itself or using voice commands with Alexa or Siri helps work around this.
For notifications, I’ve set up scenes in SmartThings to change the color based on different alerts. It’s been surprisingly effective, especially for keeping track of Zoom meetings or quick status updates around the house. The adjustable color temperature is also a nice touch, making it versatile for both daylight and nighttime use.
