Hey everyone!
I wanted to share my experience setting up smart lighting for this year’s Halloween decorations. It was a fun challenge, and I thought I’d walk through my process in case anyone else is looking for some inspiration or tips!
First off, I decided to go with Govee RGBIC strips for their vibrant colors and flexibility. I wanted something that could create a spooky yet festive vibe, and these strips definitely delivered!
I paired them with some motion sensors to add an interactive element—passersby love when the lights change colors as they approach!
However, I ran into a small hiccup. Initially, I tried setting up a scene where the lights would pulse in time with some Halloween music, but the timing wasn’t quite right. After some research, I realized I needed to tweak the settings in the Govee app to get the effect just right. It was a bit trial and error, but I got it figured out in the end! ![]()
Another thing I wanted to mention is the importance of testing your setup early. I set up my lights a few weeks in advance and adjusted them based on feedback from friends and family. It was great to see how different color combinations affected the overall look of the house. I ended up going with a mix of warm whites and deep purples for a cozy yet eerie feel. ![]()
If anyone has tips for creating dynamic lighting scenes or has tried something unique this Halloween, I’d love to hear about it! Happy decorating, and here’s to a spook-tacular Halloween! ![]()
