Smart Lighting Setup: Need Some Tips?

Hey everyone, I recently got my hands on a Govee RGB LED strip and I’m super excited to set it up! I’ve heard amazing things about how customizable these lights are, but I’m a bit overwhelmed with where to start. I’ve installed a few smart devices before, but this is my first time working with RGB lighting.

I’ve got a 46-inch TV in my living room, and I think the LED strip would look fantastic behind it. I’ve seen some really cool setups online where the lights sync with the TV’s audio, creating this immersive atmosphere. But I’m not sure how to get that working. Does the Govee app support audio syncing out of the box, or do I need to use some third-party software?

Another thing I’m curious about is the integration with my existing smart home setup. I’m using Home Assistant, and I’ve managed to integrate some Govee devices before, but this is my first RGB strip. I’ve heard that some users have had success with the Home Assistant add-ons, but I’d love to hear from anyone who’s done this specifically with the RGB strip.

I’ve also been thinking about the best way to mount the strip. I’ve got a few options in mind—maybe using some adhesive strips or a more permanent solution with brackets. I’d love to hear your recommendations on what’s worked best for you in terms of installation.

Lastly, I’m trying to figure out the best way to control the strip. I know I can use the Govee app, but I’d love to have some voice control through Alexa or Google Home. Has anyone managed to set this up seamlessly?

I’m really looking forward to getting this project up and running. It’s going to be such a cool addition to my living room, and I can’t wait to share the results with you all! If anyone has any tips, tricks, or recommendations, I’d be super grateful. Let’s make this happen! :rocket::sparkles:
