Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience setting up smart lighting in my home. It’s been a journey, but the results have been amazing! 
I started with some basic LED strip lights under my deck rail, but I ran into issues with the staircases. I needed lights in specific spots without any at the steps. After some research, I discovered that using separate light strips and controlling them individually was the way to go. It took some time, but now my outdoor lighting looks fantastic and is super functional! 
I also wanted to mention the importance of battery notifications for cameras. I had a doorbell cam that went offline without any warning, which was pretty frustrating. I hope more devices adopt better notification systems for low battery levels or connectivity issues. 
For those looking to integrate multiple brands, I’ve found that using a reliable hub and checking compatibility is key. It’s also great to see features like cross-platform compatibility in newer bindings, which makes managing a smart home so much easier.
