As a long-time enthusiast of smart home technology, I’ve always been on the lookout for ways to enhance my living space with automation and convenience. Recently, I decided to dive into the world of smart lighting, and I must say, the journey has been both rewarding and enlightening!
The Setup
I’ve been using Govee products for a while now, and their RGBIC LED Hexagon Wall Lights have been a game-changer for my home decor. The ability to sync the lights with music and control them via Alexa and Google Assistant has added a whole new dimension to how I experience my living spaces. However, I wanted to take things a step further by integrating these lights into a more comprehensive smart home ecosystem.
That’s where OpenHAB came into the picture. OpenHAB’s flexibility and extensive support for various devices made it the perfect choice for my setup. I wanted to create a system where my lights could respond to motion sensors, adjust based on the time of day, and even integrate with my HVAC system for energy efficiency.
The Process
