Smart Lighting Setup with Zigbee Devices

Hey everyone! I’m new to the smart home scene and I’m really excited to share my journey with you. I recently decided to upgrade my lighting system to something more connected and energy-efficient. I’ve been researching a lot about Zigbee devices and how they can integrate seamlessly with my existing setup.

I currently have a mix of Philips Hue bulbs and some IKEA Tradfri fixtures. I love the idea of having a unified system where I can control all my lights from one app, but I’m a bit overwhelmed by the number of options out there. I came across some really cool Zigbee switches that I think could add a nice touch to my setup, but I’m not entirely sure how to go about integrating them without causing any conflicts.

One thing I’m particularly interested in is setting up a scene where I can adjust the brightness and color temperature of my lights based on the time of day. I’ve heard that this can significantly improve comfort and energy efficiency. Does anyone have any tips or recommendations on how to achieve this?

I also stumbled upon some smart plugs that I want to incorporate into my system. I’m thinking of using them to control my desk lamp and maybe even my coffee maker. The idea of waking up to a gradually brightening room and a fresh cup of coffee sounds amazing! But I’m not sure how to set this up without overcomplicating things.

If anyone has experience with multi-brand Zigbee setups or has any advice on creating automated lighting scenes, I’d love to hear from you. I’m really looking forward to diving deeper into the world of smart lighting and can’t wait to see how this project unfolds. Thanks in advance for your help and insights!
