Hello everyone, I’m excited to share my experience with smart lighting in my kitchen! After spending hours researching and experimenting, I’ve found the perfect setup that enhances both functionality and aesthetics. Here’s what I’ve learned:
Above the Cabinets: I opted for a set of high-quality strip lights. They provide even illumination, making the kitchen feel bright and inviting. I chose a model with adjustable brightness to suit different tasks or moods.
Under the Cabinets: This was a bit trickier. I wanted something that would highlight the countertops without causing glare. I settled on a strip with a higher density of LEDs. It’s installed directly above the backsplash, and the light diffuses beautifully through the clear grout and tiles. I highly recommend using a channel to guide the light—it makes a significant difference!
Toe Kick Lighting: For the bottom of the cabinets, I used the same strip lights as above. They add a nice ambient glow and help with late-night trips to the kitchen. I had to run the strips across a microwave and a window, but using extensions made the installation much smoother.
Some tips I’d like to share:
- Product Recommendations: Look for strips with a high CRI (Color Rendering Index) for true-to-life colors.
- Installation Hacks: Use adhesive strips for a clean finish, and don’t skip the step of testing the lights before sealing them in place.
