I’ve recently completed a smart lighting setup in my home, and I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others looking to make the switch. 
Starting with the basics, I chose the Yeelight Lightstrip for its versatility and compatibility with both Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. Setting it up was a breeze, and the ability to control it through voice commands has been a game-changer. I was curious about creating zones, and after some research, I found that while the Yeelight app doesn’t support this natively, third-party integrations like Home Assistant can help achieve similar results. It’s been a fun project to tweak and customize!
For outdoor lighting, I opted for the Govee H70B1 Curtain Lights. They’ve added a unique touch to my backyard, and the fact that they’re weather-resistant makes them a fantastic investment. I love how they can be controlled manually or through voice commands, making entertaining guests much easier.
One challenge I faced was integrating multiple Zigbee devices. I learned that keeping the network clean by regularly removing unused variables helps maintain performance. It’s a small tip, but it makes a big difference!
