Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with syncing two sets of outdoor smart lights and setting up custom audible alerts for my security system. It’s been a fun but slightly challenging project, and I’d love to hear your thoughts or tips!
First, the lighting sync issue: I purchased two sets of outdoor lights for holiday decorations, but getting them to sync perfectly was a bit tricky. I initially set them to the same scene, but they’d occasionally drift out of sync. After some research, I discovered that using a single gateway device helped maintain consistency. I also found that manually adjusting the timing on each set helped them stay in sync better. It’s not a perfect solution, but it’s worked well so far!
On the security side, I’ve been experimenting with audible alerts for my sensors. I wanted short warning beeps for minor triggers and longer, louder alerts for intrusions. I ended up using a combination of zwave sirens and some DIY solutions with relays and mini beepers. It’s been surprisingly effective, and I feel much more secure knowing these alerts are in place.
