Smart Lighting Temperature Display Project: A Colorful Solution

I’ve been really excited about my latest smart home project, and I wanted to share my progress and thoughts with the community. The goal is to create a visual temperature display using a five-bulb Hue floor lamp, where each bulb changes color based on temperature readings from a ZSE40 sensor. It’s been a fun challenge, and I’ve learned a lot along the way!

Project Overview
I started with a simple setup: one bulb and one sensor to test the concept. The idea is to map temperature ranges to specific colors—hot to red, warm to yellow, comfortable to green, cool to light blue, cold to blue, and freezing to violet. This visual feedback could be really useful for monitoring different zones in my home, like the garage or attic.

Current Progress
So far, I’ve managed to get the single bulb setup working smoothly. The color transitions are smooth, and it’s been a great way to keep track of the temperature in my office. I’ve also started exploring how to integrate multiple sensors and bulbs, which will be the next big step.

Challenges and Tips
One thing I’ve learned is the importance of starting small. Testing with one bulb and one sensor helped me iron out any issues before scaling up. I also recommend using a consistent naming convention for your devices and zones to keep everything organized.

Future Plans
I’m looking forward to expanding this project to include all five bulbs and multiple zones. I’d love to hear if anyone else has tackled a similar project or has tips for handling multiple devices. The community’s insights have been invaluable to me!

Thanks to everyone for their support and inspiration. It’s amazing how a simple idea can come together with the right tools and a bit of creativity. I can’t wait to share more updates as the project progresses! :star2:
