Smart Lighting Tips & Tricks for a Seamless Experience

Hey everyone! I’m a relatively new member to the world of smart lighting, and I’ve been exploring all the amazing possibilities these devices offer. I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips in case they can help others on their journey.

Starting with my kitchen setup, I’ve been using a Shelly Dimmer 2 to control my LED under-cabinet lights. It’s been a game-changer for creating the perfect ambiance. However, I noticed that in the mornings, the brightness was a bit too harsh. After some research, I found that adjusting the dimming levels through a double-click feature made a huge difference. I’d love to hear if others have similar adjustments they’ve made!

Another thing I’ve been experimenting with is custom patterns for my LED strips. I was inspired by the idea of creating my own light sequences, similar to how you can customize haptic feedback on a smartphone. It would be awesome if there was an option to choose from predefined patterns or even create custom ones by selecting colors. Does anyone know if this is possible or if there are any workarounds?

For those dealing with motion sensors, I’ve found that setting up scheduled dimming during specific times of the day helps reduce unnecessary brightness. Pairing this with motion-activated lights ensures that the lights are always at the right level when I need them. I’d love to hear how others optimize their motion sensor setups!

Lastly, I’ve been exploring the Floodlight Pro and its notification settings. I was getting alerts for every little movement, even bugs flying by. After adjusting the sensitivity and setting it to only notify for larger objects, it’s been much more manageable. If anyone else is struggling with overactive notifications, I’d recommend tweaking these settings.

I’d love to hear your thoughts and tips on smart lighting setups! What features or adjustments have made your experience better?
