I’ve been absolutely thrilled with my new Govee smart lights. They’ve completely transformed the ambiance of my home, and I love how easy it is to control them through my phone. However, I’ve run into an issue with my motion sensors that I’m hoping someone can help me with.
The problem is that my motion lighting app doesn’t seem to respect the “Don’t Turn Off if Already On” setting. Here’s what happens: I manually turn on my lights using a physical switch, then walk in front of the motion sensor. The lights come on as expected, but after about three minutes of no motion, they turn off. I thought the setting was supposed to keep them on if I turned them on manually, but that doesn’t seem to be happening.
I’ve tried adjusting the timeout settings, but nothing seems to work. I’ve also checked the logs, and it looks like the app is still triggering the lights to turn off after the timeout period, regardless of the setting. I’m really hoping someone has a solution for this because I’d love to have my lights stay on when I turn them on manually.
In the meantime, I’ll keep experimenting with different configurations and settings. Maybe there’s something I’m missing. If anyone has any tips or advice, I’d be more than happy to hear them!
Overall, I’m still really impressed with how much my smart home setup has improved my quality of life. It’s just these little hiccups that I wish I could figure out. Thanks in advance for any help!
