I’ve been experimenting with smart lights to create a safer environment at home, and I wanted to share my experience! 
A few months ago, I set up motion-activated lights around my property using Govee LED strip lights. The goal was to deter potential intruders while ensuring I wasn’t caught in the dark when moving around at night. Initially, I faced some challenges with the sensitivity settings—too sensitive and they’d trigger from passing cars, not sensitive enough and they’d miss actual movement. After some trial and error, I found the sweet spot by adjusting the detection zones and delay settings.
Here’s a quick tip I learned: pairing the lights with a compatible hub allowed me to create scenes that not only turn on the lights but also send a notification to my phone. This way, I’m alerted of any movement without having to constantly watch the cameras. It’s been a game-changer for peace of mind!
