Smart Lock Control Issues in Vacation Home

Hi everyone, I’m reaching out for some advice regarding my smart lock setup in my vacation home. I recently upgraded to a smart thermostat and decided to go all-in on smart home devices. However, I’m running into some issues with my smart lock that I can’t seem to resolve on my own.

Let me start by sharing my setup. I have a Vaillant boiler with a Drayton LP 112 wired thermostat. I wanted to replace this with a Tado smart thermostat to better control the heating remotely. However, I’m also looking to upgrade my door locks to a smart system that I can fully control through the Tado app.

I did some research and found that the Schlage lock is compatible with the Tado ecosystem. I installed it, but I’m having trouble figuring out how to remotely add or delete access codes. This is a huge inconvenience since the vacation home is two hours away and rented out frequently. I’ve tried reaching out to Tado support, but I’m not getting the help I need.

I’ve also considered other options, like the Lockstate lock, which allows me to set codes and restrict usage by days and times. It works great, but it’s not integrated with Tado, which means I’d have to use another app to manage my locks. I was really hoping to keep everything in one app for simplicity.

Has anyone else had similar issues with smart locks and Tado? I’m curious if there’s a workaround or if others have successfully integrated different lock brands with Tado. Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance for your help. I’m really excited about the potential of smart home technology, but this lock issue is holding me back. Looking forward to hearing from the community!
