Hello everyone, I’m diving into the world of smart home security and I’m eager to get your insights! I’ve recently purchased an August Connect smart lock and a few motion sensors, and I’m looking to integrate them seamlessly for enhanced security. My goal is to have the lock automatically unlock when motion is detected near the door, but I’m not entirely sure how to set this up.
I’ve heard that Node-RED can be a great tool for creating such automations, but I’m still getting the hang of it. Has anyone successfully integrated their smart lock with motion sensors? Any tips or tutorials you could share would be invaluable!
On a lighter note, I also love the idea of having my lights flicker randomly when I’m away, to give the illusion that someone’s home. I’ve seen some setups using Vera software, but I’m not sure if it can handle random timing without additional plugins. Any advice on this would be fantastic!
