Smart Lock Notifications and Temperature Sensor Integration

I’ve been exploring some new features with my smart home setup and wanted to share my experiences and a couple of questions I’ve come across. First, I’ve been using the Schlage Smart Connect lock with SmartThings, and I’ve noticed something interesting about the unlock notifications. While the notifications do show up, they only display the code number instead of the associated name I’ve set in the app. I’m curious if there’s a way to make it display the name instead—it would make things a bit more user-friendly, especially when multiple family members are using the lock. If anyone has figured this out, I’d love to hear how you did it!

On another note, I’ve been working on integrating a thermostat with external temperature sensors. The idea is to adjust the thermostat based on the temperature in another room. I’ve managed to get the basic setup working, but I’m running into an issue where I can’t access the original temperature settings after making adjustments. It seems like the thermostat isn’t retaining the initial values, which is crucial for accurate adjustments. I’ve looked into accessing the settings for routines, but I haven’t found a straightforward way to retrieve those values. If anyone has experience with this or knows of a workaround, I’d be really grateful for the insight!

Overall, I’m really enjoying the flexibility and customization that smart home devices offer. It’s amazing how much you can automate and optimize once you start diving into these features. I’d love to hear about any tips, tricks, or experiences others have had with similar setups or challenges. Let’s keep the discussion going and help each other out!
