Hey everyone, I wanted to share my recent experience with pairing Schlage BE468 smart locks. It’s been quite the journey, and I thought I’d walk through my process in case it helps someone else out there.
So, I have four of these locks in total. Two paired without any issues, which was great! But the other two were giving me a hard time. I decided to approach this systematically. First, I checked for any updates on my hub and rebooted it just to be safe. I also moved the hub closer to the locks to ensure a strong signal. Then, I ran a Z-Wave exclusion and repair, thinking maybe a fresh start would help. I even replaced the batteries in the locks with fresh ones, just to rule out any power issues.
After all that, one of the stubborn locks finally paired, but the last one still wasn’t cooperating. I started wondering if there was something specific about its placement or if there was some interference I hadn’t accounted for. I reached out to the community for advice, and someone suggested trying a different hub or checking for firmware updates on the lock itself. I ended up upgrading the lock’s firmware, and voilà! It paired without any further issues.
This experience taught me the importance of methodical troubleshooting and not giving up too easily. It also highlighted how invaluable the community support can be when you hit a roadblock.
