Hey everyone, I’m trying to set up my new smart lock, and I’m running into a bit of trouble. I’ve got a Ring Smart Lock and a Kwikset door lock, and I’m hoping to integrate them into my existing smart home setup. I’ve followed the instructions from both manufacturers, but I’m still not getting the integration to work smoothly.
First, I installed the Ring app and connected the lock. It showed up in my Alexa app, which was great. But when I tried to link it with my Kwikset lock using the SmartThings app, it didn’t recognize the Kwikset. I’ve checked the compatibility list, and it says they should work together, but I’m not having any luck.
I’ve also tried setting up routines where the lock automatically unlocks when I’m near, but it’s hit or miss. Sometimes it works perfectly, and other times it doesn’t respond at all. I’m wondering if there’s a specific setting I’m missing or if I need to update the firmware on either device.
Has anyone else had success integrating Ring and Kwikset locks? Any tips or tricks you can share would be amazing. I’m really excited to get this working so I can fully automate my entryway. Thanks in advance for any help!
