Hey everyone, I wanted to share some of my experiences with setting up smart music modes and managing multiple cameras in my home. It’s been a fun journey, and I hope my tips can help others!
First, I’ve been experimenting with different music modes in my living room. Using a combination of Spotify and Homey, I’ve been able to create a seamless music experience throughout the house. One thing I found particularly useful was setting up automation to switch playlists based on the time of day or even the weather outside. For example, on sunny days, I have a brighter playlist that kicks in automatically!
Another area I’ve been working on is managing multiple cameras. I have several cameras set up for security and monitoring, and I wanted a way to turn them off when I’m home but keep them active when I’m away. I discovered that using IFTTT to create a rule based on my phone’s location allows me to toggle multiple cameras at once. It’s been a great way to save battery life and ensure privacy when I’m at home.
I also wanted to mention my experience with OpenHAB. After switching from OH2 to OH3, I had some issues with the system crashing after a few minutes. After some research, I found that adjusting the memory settings in the configuration file helped stabilize the system. It’s a small tweak, but it made a big difference!
If anyone has tips on optimizing automation rules or integrating different brands of devices, I’d love to hear about it. Happy smart home tinkering everyone!
