During the holiday season, I wanted to ensure my home was festive but also safe. I decided to set up my outdoor Christmas lights using smart plugs with a scheduled timer. This way, the lights turn on at sunset and off at midnight, providing a warm glow without leaving them on all night, which could be a safety hazard.
I chose smart plugs because they offer flexibility and remote control, which is great if I ever need to adjust the schedule or turn the lights off earlier. Plus, using a schedule means I don’t have to worry about manually turning them on or off, especially if I’m not home.
For added safety, I considered only using LED lights, which are cooler and more energy-efficient. This setup not only enhances the festive ambiance but also gives me peace of mind knowing the lights won’t be left on unnecessarily.
