Hey everyone, I’ve been diving into the world of smart home automation lately, and I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips, especially regarding smart plugs and their automation.
I recently noticed one of my Teckin SP27 smart plugs was turning on automatically every day at the same time, even though I hadn’t set up any routines. After some troubleshooting, I discovered it was related to the IP address the plug was using. It was picking up the same IP as my router, whereas all other plugs had their own. Resetting the plug, changing passwords, and moving it closer to the router didn’t help, but it was a good learning experience!
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with setting up a routine where my lights turn on automatically in the evening when motion is detected. It’s been a great convenience, but I had to tweak the sensitivity settings a few times to avoid false triggers.
