Smart Plug Automation for Router Maintenance

Hey everyone, I’m looking for some advice on how to automate my router maintenance using a smart plug. I recently upgraded my home network, but I’ve noticed that my router tends to slow down after a few months. To keep things running smoothly, I’ve been manually rebooting it by unplugging and plugging it back in. However, I’d love to find a more convenient way to handle this, especially since I’m not always home to do it myself.

I came across the idea of using a smart plug to automatically turn the router off and on again if it loses connection. This seems like a great solution, but I’m not entirely sure how to set it up. Does anyone have experience with this kind of automation? I’m particularly interested in knowing if there are specific smart plugs that work well for this purpose and how to configure the settings to ensure it works reliably.

Additionally, I’m curious if there are any potential downsides to this approach. For example, could frequent reboots cause any issues with the router’s performance or lifespan? I’d appreciate any insights or tips you might have. Thanks in advance for your help!
