Smart Security Setup with Delay Arming

I’ve been diving into setting up a smart security system for my home, and I’m really excited about how far things have come! I’ve got all my doors and windows covered with contact sensors and motion detectors, all integrated into the SmartThings ecosystem. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m loving the convenience and peace of mind it brings.

One feature I’ve been really looking forward to is the arming delay with a beep or spoken warning. It’s something that seems pretty straightforward, but I’m not quite sure how to implement it. I’ve set up presence detection using my phone, and the system arms automatically when we’re out of the house. But I’d love to have that little beep to let me know the system is about to arm, just to give me a few extra seconds to grab my keys or make sure the door is locked properly.

Similarly, on entry, I’d love a beep or voice warning if the alarm gets tripped, giving me a chance to disarm it before the siren goes off. It’s such a simple idea, but I’m not sure where to start. I’ve read through some forums and tutorials, but I’m still a bit stuck.

Has anyone managed to set this up? I’d love to hear your thoughts, tips, or even links to threads or YouTube videos that might help. Maybe there’s a smart app or device handler that can make this happen. I’m really curious to see how others have tackled this!

Thanks in advance for your help! Let’s keep the ideas flowing and make our homes even smarter and safer!
