Hi everyone, I’m really excited to share my recent experience with integrating smart switches and outdoor lighting in my backyard. As a newbie to the world of smart home automation, I’ve been exploring how to make my outdoor space more functional and enjoyable.
I’ve installed a smart switch to control my patio lights, which has been working perfectly for basic on/off functionality. However, I wanted to take it a step further by integrating my outdoor fountain, which is controlled by a smart plug. My goal was to create a more flexible system where I could toggle both the lights and fountain together with a simple gesture.
After some research, I came across the idea of using quick successive toggles on the smart switch to trigger both devices. It’s a neat workaround that doesn’t require any additional hardware. I’m still learning the ropes, but it’s amazing how much you can customize these systems with a little creativity.
I’d love to hear from others who’ve tackled similar projects or have tips for making the most out of smart switches and outdoor lighting setups. Let’s keep the ideas flowing! ![]()
