Smart Temperature Management with Homematic IP

Hey everyone, I’m really excited to share my recent project with the Homematic IP system! I’ve been working on integrating my home heating system with some smart temperature management, and it’s been a fascinating journey. Let me walk you through it and maybe get some tips from the community.

So, I have a pool hall that’s heated using both floor heating and wall radiators. Both systems are currently manually controlled, which isn’t ideal. I want to automate this process to make it more efficient. My goal is to set the room temperature to be exactly three degrees above the water temperature. This way, I won’t overheat the room unnecessarily, and it should help with energy efficiency.

I’ve heard that connecting a water thermometer to Homematic IP is possible, but I’m not entirely sure how to set it up. Does anyone have experience with this? I’ve done some research, but I’d love to hear from someone who’s actually implemented something similar.

Another thing I’m curious about is whether there are any smart devices or integrations that can help with this kind of temperature synchronization. Maybe there’s a clever workaround or a feature I haven’t discovered yet. I’m also wondering if there are any potential issues with such a setup, like lag or inaccuracies in temperature readings.

I’d really appreciate any advice or success stories from those who’ve tackled similar projects. Let’s brainstorm together and see how we can make this work!

Cheers,
