I recently upgraded my home automation setup with the Centralite Pearl Thermostat and the Aeotec SmartThings Hub, and I wanted to share my experience with the community. The Centralite Pearl Thermostat has been a game-changer for me. It’s incredibly responsive, switching modes almost instantly, which is a vast improvement over my old Zen Thermostat. The setup was seamless, and it auto-configured itself without any hassle. I’m also impressed with its rock-solid performance, which has eliminated the need for backup routines I used to rely on.
However, my journey wasn’t entirely smooth. I faced a challenge with activating the doorbell camera using the Aeotec Hub. Initially, the doorbell rang, but the camera and mic didn’t function as expected. After some research, I discovered that using the MAC address to connect the camera was a potential solution. While I’m still exploring this option, it’s been a valuable learning experience.
