Smart Thermostat Compatibility and Automation Tips

Hello everyone, I’ve been exploring options for upgrading my home heating system with a smart thermostat. I’m currently using a Secure (Horstmann) thermostat and relay, which integrate with my Fibaro HC2 system. However, I’ve encountered some issues where the thermostat doesn’t respond to changes in Home Assistant, despite showing the correct temperature readings. I’ve tried troubleshooting by checking the device info on both Fibaro and Home Assistant, but the actuator only shows a static sensor value, which is perplexing.

I came across the Netatmo thermostat, which claims compatibility with my boiler, but I’m hesitant due to its reliance on cloud services. I’d prefer a solution that works seamlessly without constant cloud dependency. Does anyone have experience with thermostats that are both Wi-Fi enabled and reliable in Europe?

On a lighter note, I’ve been experimenting with automating my TV setup using a Harmony Hub. It’s been a fun project, though occasionally the TVs go out of sync. I’ve considered adding sensors to each TV to improve reliability, but I’m curious if others have tackled this issue differently.

Lastly, I’ve been impressed with how the community shares tips and solutions. If anyone has advice on troubleshooting thermostat integration or enhancing TV automation, I’d be grateful for your insights! Thanks for being such a supportive community.
