Smart Thermostat Energy-Saving Setup for Away Mode

Hey everyone, I wanted to share my experience and ask for some tips on setting up my smart thermostats for energy savings when we’re away. I’ve been using Nest thermostats for a while now, but I’m running into an issue with their eco mode. I’d love to set both my thermostats to 45 degrees while we’re away, but when I try to do this on eco mode, it won’t go below 50. If I turn eco off, I have to manually adjust each day, which is a hassle—14 adjustments a week for two thermostats is a lot!

I’d love to find an easy way to have the thermostats set and hold a specific temperature without having to adjust them every day. Has anyone else encountered this issue? Maybe there’s a workaround or a feature I’m missing. I’ve heard about some users using routines or integrations with other smart home systems to automate this process. If anyone has tips or solutions, I’d really appreciate it!

On a positive note, I’ve been really impressed with how my smart thermostats learn my habits and adjust temperatures automatically when I’m home. It’s been a great way to save energy without sacrificing comfort. I’m just hoping to find a similar solution for when we’re away. Thanks in advance for any advice!
