I’ve been really excited to share my success with automating humidity settings based on outdoor temperature. After doing some research and tinkering with my smart thermostat, I finally got it working perfectly!
Here’s the setup I went with:
- If outside temp > 20°F: Set humidity to 35%
- 10°F-20°F: 30%
- 0°F-10°F: 25%
- -10°F-0°F: 20%
- -20°F–10°F: 15%
- <-20°F: 10%
The best part? It’s all automated using my thermostat’s scheduling feature. No more manual adjustments!
Why I love this setup:
- Reduces window condensation during cold months
- Maintains optimal comfort levels
- Saves energy by avoiding over humidification
It took a bit of trial and error, but now my home feels perfectly balanced year-round. If you’re dealing with humidity issues, I highly recommend exploring automated solutions like this!
Any other tips for optimizing humidity control? I’d love to hear what’s worked for others! ![]()
