Smart Thermostat Issues and Solutions

I’ve been exploring the world of smart thermostats lately and wanted to share some of my experiences and questions with the community. Hopefully, someone can shed some light on these topics!

1. Wyze Thermostat Heating Issue

I recently installed a Wyze thermostat to replace my old one. While it’s been a breeze to set up, I’ve noticed an odd behavior when I switch it to heat mode. The AC compressor kicks on as well, and the air doesn’t feel as warm as it did with the old thermostat. This is puzzling because my old thermostat didn’t have this issue. I’ve double-checked the wiring following the Wyze app instructions, so I know it’s connected correctly. Does anyone know why this might be happening? Could it be a setting I’m missing or a compatibility issue with my HVAC system?

2. Worcester Boiler Control

On a different note, I have a Worcester 537i combi boiler controlled by a programming unit (Worcester TD200). I use this to schedule when the boiler comes on and set the temperature for central heating. The programming unit is hardwired to a thermostat (RT10). I’m now considering upgrading to a smart thermostat but I’m torn between getting a wired or wireless starter set. If I go with a wireless set, would it simply be a matter of replacing the hardwired thermostat with a Tado unit and leaving the programming unit in place? I’d love to hear others’ experiences with similar setups!

3. Success Story: Fixing My Thermostat

Just wanted to share a positive experience! After struggling with my thermostat for weeks, I finally figured out that the issue was with how the wires were configured. By reorganizing them and updating the thermostat settings, everything started working smoothly. It’s such a relief, and I’m now enjoying the convenience of a smart thermostat without any hiccups!

If anyone has tips or troubleshooting steps for these kinds of issues, I’d be grateful to hear them. Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other out!

Cheers,
