I recently set up my smart thermostat and I’m really excited about how it can help me save energy. However, I noticed that the default temperature settings are a bit higher than what I’m used to. For example, my living room is set to 19 degrees, but the system marks it as ‘cold.’ When I increase it to 20 degrees, it becomes ‘pleasant.’ I’m wondering if there’s a way to adjust these categories to better reflect the recommended energy-saving temperatures in the Netherlands, which are typically around 19 degrees during the day and 15 degrees at night.
I’ve already adjusted the preset values to align more closely with these recommendations, but I think it would be helpful if the system offered an intermediate category, like ‘fine’ or ‘ok,’ to give users more flexibility. This way, those who prefer a warmer home could still make adjustments without compromising energy efficiency.
If anyone has tips or tricks for optimizing smart thermostat settings for energy savings, I’d love to hear them! Let’s work together to make our homes smarter and more eco-friendly. ![]()
