On another note, I’ve been exploring smart locks and came across the Kwikset 914 model. It’s been a great addition to my setup, but I’m running into an interesting challenge. My system locks the front door when I leave, which is fantastic for security. However, if the door is open and I’m still home, the lock engages, causing the deadbolt to stick out awkwardly. It’s a minor inconvenience, but I’d love to find a way to disable the lock when the door is open, preferably without relying on IFTTT. Does anyone have a clever workaround or a built-in feature that can handle this scenario?
Lastly, I’m looking to upgrade my lighting setup and would love your recommendations on smart lights that integrate seamlessly with Home Assistant. I’m particularly interested in RGB options or at least color temperature-adjustable white lights. Bonus points if they’re easy to install without major rewiring!
