Hey everyone, I’m trying to integrate my Samsung SmartThings washer with IFTTT, and I wanted to share my journey and some insights in case others are facing similar challenges. ![]()

So, here’s the setup: I created a simulated switch in the SmartThings app that’s controlled by a webhook from IFTTT. The idea is that when the webhook is triggered, the simulated switch turns on, which should, in turn, start my washer. The rule works perfectly when I manually toggle the switch in the app—my washer starts right up. But when I trigger the webhook through IFTTT, the switch does turn on (I can see it in the app), but the washer doesn’t start. ![]()
This inconsistency is a bit frustrating. Sometimes it works, and other times it doesn’t. I’m wondering if the rule execution is tied to the app itself rather than running in the backend. Maybe there’s a delay or a connectivity issue? I’ve tried resetting the app and even the washer, but no luck yet. ![]()
I’m curious if others have encountered similar issues when integrating SmartThings with IFTTT. Have you found any workarounds or solutions? I’m also thinking about exploring other automation platforms or checking if there are any specific settings in the SmartThings app that might affect rule execution. ![]()
