Hello everyone! I wanted to share an exciting project I recently completed and also reach out for some help with a minor issue I’m encountering with Alexa. First, let me tell you about my smart water bottle project. I’ve been working on creating a semi-smart water bottle using an ESP8266-12 module, a mercury switch, and a Li-Po battery. The idea is to track how many times I drink water throughout the day by detecting when the bottle is tilted. It also sends notifications if I haven’t drunk enough water in a certain period. I’ve set up a binary sensor to detect the tilt and a counter to keep track of the number of times I drink. The automation resets the counter every hour and sends a notification if I haven’t drunk enough water by a certain time. I’ve also included some photos of the setup and the ESPHome code I used. I’d love to hear any suggestions or improvements you might have for this project! Now, onto the issue I’m facing with Alexa. I’ve noticed that when I try to play a podcast, Alexa cuts off the end of the episode and starts playing the latest one instead. I’ve tried turning off autoplay in the settings and rebooting my Echo Dot, but the problem persists. I’ve also checked the app, and autoplay is still disabled.
