Hi everyone! I’ve been using electric roller blinds in my home for about four years now, and recently, I noticed that the ball bearings in the roller blinds are starting to make a grinding noise. I decided to open one up and lubricate the bearings, and it worked wonders! The blind now operates almost silently, which is even better than when it was new.
However, I’ve come across some advice suggesting that lubricating these bearings isn’t a good idea. One manufacturer mentioned that unlike industrial bearings, these aren’t protected from dust and debris. Lubricating them could trap dirt and small particles, potentially damaging the bearings over time.
So, I’m curious—how do others handle this? Do you leave the bearings unlubricated and deal with the noise, or do you go ahead and apply some lubricant? I’d love to hear your experiences and any tips you might have!
Best regards,
