SmartCam Automation Tips and Questions

Hi everyone, I’ve been really enjoying setting up my SmartCam HD Pro with the SmartThings hub. It’s been a great addition to my home security setup! I wanted to share some of my experiences and also ask for some advice on optimizing the automation further. First off, I love how easy it was to integrate the camera into my existing security system. I set it up so that when I arm my security system, the camera starts recording if there’s any intrusion detected—like an open sensor or motion. It’s been working pretty smoothly, but I’m curious if there’s a way to make it even more efficient. One thing I’ve noticed is that when I disarm the system, I’d like the camera to either turn off completely or at least stop recording. Right now, it seems like the camera stays active regardless of the system’s status, which isn’t ideal. I’ve tried turning it off through the SmartThings app, but it doesn’t seem to disconnect properly. The camera just keeps running as usual, which isn’t what I want when I’m home and don’t need constant monitoring. I’ve also noticed that the camera’s recording quality is excellent, but I’m wondering if there’s a way to adjust the settings for better motion detection. Maybe tweaking the sensitivity or setting specific zones where I want the camera to focus? I’d love to hear if anyone has tips on optimizing this. Another thing I’m curious about is battery life. I have the camera mounted in a slightly awkward spot, and while it’s working fine, I’d like to know if there’s a way to extend the battery life without compromising on performance. Any suggestions on power-saving settings or best practices would be really helpful! Overall, I’m really happy with how the SmartCam HD Pro has integrated into my smart home setup. It’s given me peace of mind knowing my place is secure. I’d love to hear if anyone else has similar setups or has found innovative ways to use their cameras for home security. Let’s share our experiences and tips to make our setups even better! Thanks for reading, and I look forward to hearing your thoughts and suggestions!
