I’ve been on a journey to create a seamless smart home ecosystem, and I wanted to share my experience in case it helps others. 
Starting with a mix of Zigbee, Z-Wave, and Enocean devices, I was determined to get everything working smoothly with openHAB. After some research, I decided to go with a Raspberry Pi setup. It was a bit overwhelming at first, but the community support and tutorials were incredible. I ended up using a Raspberry Pi 4 with a Zigbee stick and a Z-Wave USB adapter. The key was ensuring all drivers were up to date and properly configured. 
One of the most rewarding parts was integrating my Schlage deadbolt. Initially, it was a bit finicky, but after a factory reset and proper pairing, it’s been rock solid. I love how I can now control it through my smart home app or even voice commands with Alexa. 
I also had some fun with my Curtain Lights. Creating custom patterns has become a bit of a hobby! It’s amazing how lighting can transform a space. 
For anyone looking to integrate multiple brands, my advice is to start small, test each component, and don’t hesitate to reach out to forums for help. The learning curve is worth it for the convenience and customization you can achieve.
