Starting my smart home journey has been both exciting and challenging. I wanted to share some of my experiences and tips in case they can help others. 
First, I invested in a leak detector which has been a game-changer. It’s simple to set up and provides immediate alerts to my phone. Highly recommend for anyone worried about water damage! 
I also recently explored setting up an automation script for my TV. The goal was to turn it off automatically based on device tracking. While the initial setup was straightforward, getting the state detection right was tricky. I ended up using a combination of ping commands and device tracker integrations. If anyone has smoother solutions, I’d love to hear them! 
Another interesting project was integrating motion sensor lightbulbs. It was a fun DIY project, and now my hallway lights up automatically when I walk by. The best part? No more fumbling for switches in the dark!
For those looking to dive into scripting, I found the SmartThings platform to be quite flexible. However, debugging can be a bit of a learning curve. Patience is key! 
Lastly, I’m eagerly waiting for Govee’s next event. Their products have been fantastic, and I’m hopeful for more innovative releases soon. Fingers crossed!
