Hey everyone, I wanted to share a couple of things I’ve learned recently that might help others out there. First off, I had an issue with the SmartThings app where I couldn’t control my Honeywell thermostat—it kept giving me a ‘network disconnect’ error. I tried everything I could think of, but nothing worked until I decided to delete the thermostat from the app and reinstall it. To my relief, that fixed the problem! If anyone else is struggling with similar issues, give that a shot—it might save you some frustration.
On another note, I’ve been experimenting with IFTTT to control my Wyze cameras. IFTTT is such a powerful tool, but I was having trouble getting it to work for turning my cameras on and off. After some trial and error, I figured out that it does work if you set it up correctly. I now have my cameras turning on when we leave the house and off when we’re back. It’s been a lifesaver for keeping an eye on things while we’re away.
I’m also curious about how others are using IFTTT or similar services for their smart home setups. Do you have any tips or tricks that you’d be willing to share? I’m always looking for new ways to streamline my home automation setup.
Lastly, I wanted to touch on geofencing. I’ve noticed that geofencing can be a bit hit or miss, especially with battery life considerations. I wonder if there’s a way to make it more reliable, maybe by integrating it with other sensors or apps. If anyone has any insights or solutions, I’d love to hear about them!
Happy automating everyone! ![]()
