SmartThings Firmware Update Challenges and Solutions

I wanted to share my experience with the recent SmartThings firmware updates and how I’ve managed to work around the issues I’ve encountered. Every time there’s a firmware update, my automations stop working. This has been a consistent issue, and it’s been quite frustrating. However, I’ve found a reliable workaround that I’d like to share with the community.

After the update, I’ve noticed that simply resetting the hub or removing and reinserting batteries doesn’t resolve the issue. The only solution that consistently works for me is deleting and recreating my automations. While it’s time-consuming, it’s a reliable method. I’ve also noticed that all my devices remain connected, which saves me from having to re-add them each time.

I’d love to hear if others are experiencing the same issue and if there are alternative solutions or workarounds that I might not be aware of. It would be great if there were a more seamless way to handle firmware updates without losing automation configurations. I’m hopeful that future updates will address this challenge.

In the meantime, I’ve been documenting my process to make it as efficient as possible. If anyone has tips or tricks for managing automations during updates, I’d be happy to hear them! Let’s keep the conversation going and help each other navigate these updates more smoothly. :rocket:
