Hello everyone, I’m reaching out to share my experience and seek advice regarding the integration of my Aeotec SmartPlug with the SmartThings Hub. I recently upgraded my home security system and decided to transition from my old Piper camera hub to the SmartThings ecosystem. This move was motivated by the Piper app’s 32-bit limitation, which no longer works with my new Google Pixel 7 phone.
The transition seemed smooth at first, but I’ve encountered an unusual issue with my Aeotec SmartPlugs. Specifically, the routines I’ve created for these plugs are not persisting within the SmartThings app. Every time I create a new routine under the device menu and save it, the routine disappears when I navigate away. This behavior is perplexing, as the routines do appear temporarily if I don’t save them and revisit the device settings. Additionally, sometimes the routines show up under the global routine menu, but they vanish again when accessed through the device-specific menu.
This inconsistency is frustrating, especially since the routines still function for a few days before failing. I’m wondering if there’s a conflict arising from integrating SmartThings with Google Home, as I’ve noticed some irregularities since linking the two platforms.
I’m curious if others have faced similar issues, particularly with Aeotec devices on the SmartThings platform. Any insights or troubleshooting steps would be greatly appreciated. I’m eager to resolve this to fully leverage the potential of my smart home setup. Thanks in advance for your help!
