SmartThings Hub Time Zone Issue After DST Change

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share an interesting issue I encountered with my SmartThings Hub after the recent Daylight Saving Time change. I’ve been using the SmartThings Hub as a replacement for my old Wink system, and overall, it’s been working great. But when we rolled the clocks back, I noticed something odd with my lighting automations.

I had set up my lights to turn on at 5 PM via the Smart Lighting app. However, after the DST change, they started coming on at 4 PM instead. At first, I thought it was a simple oversight on my part, but after double-checking the settings, everything seemed correct. I couldn’t find any option in the app to adjust for the time zone or DST change. It’s a bit puzzling because I expected a ‘smart’ hub to handle this automatically, maybe by syncing with a time server or adjusting based on the system clock.

I’ve tried resetting the hub and re-syncing the time, but the issue persists. My lights are still an hour off, which is a bit inconvenient. I wonder if others have experienced the same problem or if there’s a workaround I’m missing. Maybe there’s a setting I haven’t discovered yet or a way to manually adjust the schedule to account for the time change.

It’s a minor issue, but it’s got me curious about how the hub handles time-related tasks. I’d love to hear if anyone else has encountered this and how they resolved it. Maybe there’s a feature request or a tweak that could make the hub more intuitive in handling DST changes in the future.

In the meantime, I’ll keep experimenting with the settings and see if I can find a way to get my lights back on schedule. Thanks for any insights or advice you can share!
