Hey everyone! I wanted to share my recent experience with integrating my Foscam cameras into the SmartThings ecosystem. It’s been a bit of a learning curve, but I’m thrilled with how it all came together.
I recently purchased the SmartThings know and control your home kit and have been gradually adding devices to it. One of my main goals was to enable and disable the motion alarm on my Foscam cameras based on my presence. I have five cameras, all either FI9821W V2 or FI8910W, and while remote viewing wasn’t necessary, having the motion alarm tied to my presence was crucial.
Initially, I was a bit overwhelmed, but after some research and tinkering, I figured out how to set it up using the SmartThings app. It’s amazing how seamlessly everything works together now! No more manually turning the alarm on before leaving—I can focus on other things knowing my home is secure.
