SmartThings Integration Issues with New Samsung TV

I recently upgraded my TV to a Samsung QLED model, specifically the QN65Q60TAFXZA, hoping to leverage its SmartThings integration. The setup process seemed straightforward, and the TV was recognized by my SmartThings hub without any initial issues. However, upon opening the SmartThings app on the TV, I encountered a perplexing problem: the screen displayed ‘no registered scenes and devices.’ This was unexpected, as my son had a similar setup with his Samsung QLED TV and SmartThings hub without any issues.

I spent considerable time troubleshooting, including resetting the TV, reconfiguring the hub, and even contacting Samsung support. Despite these efforts, the issue persisted. The lack of registered scenes and devices severely limited the functionality of my SmartThings setup on the TV, which was a significant disappointment.

After extensive research and reaching out to the community, I discovered that several users had encountered similar issues with newer Samsung TV models. Some suggested potential firmware updates or compatibility patches, but as of now, there hasn’t been a definitive resolution. This experience has been quite frustrating, especially since I chose this TV model specifically for its SmartThings integration capabilities.

I am now considering alternative TV models from brands like Vizio or Sony, which have a reputation for better compatibility with third-party smart home ecosystems. However, I am hesitant to return the TV, as it otherwise performs exceptionally well in terms of picture quality and overall functionality.

If anyone has successfully resolved this issue or has insights into potential workarounds, I would greatly appreciate sharing your experiences. It would be invaluable to hear from others who have navigated this challenge and found a satisfactory solution.
