I recently updated my SmartThings iOS app to version 2.1.2, and I must say, the improvements are quite noticeable! The ability to edge swipe to open the menu is a huge convenience, especially when navigating through multiple rooms or devices. The updated Things list with improved tap targets makes selecting devices much more intuitive and less frustrating.
I also appreciate the new Edit Room experience and the updated fonts, which have definitely enhanced readability. The minor design tweaks, like the new icons and wayfinders, give the app a fresh look without feeling overwhelming.
On the bug fixes front, the resolution for issues with installing certain SmartApps is a relief. I had encountered problems with Smart Lights and Energy Alerts before, and it’s great to see those sorted out. Additionally, the accessibility fix for closing the menu drawer with VoiceOver enabled is a thoughtful update that improves usability for everyone.
Overall, this update feels like a solid step forward for the SmartThings app. It’s clear that the development team has been listening to user feedback and working to address common pain points. I’m excited to continue using the app and see what future updates bring!
