SmartThings Link vs Hub: Xiaomi Sensor Integration Experience

After experimenting with the SmartThings Link paired with my Nvidia Shield, I decided to integrate my Xiaomi ecosystem into my smart home setup. The goal was to pair my Xiaomi sensors with the SmartThings platform. While I managed to connect all the sensors using various handlers discussed in this forum, I encountered a recurring issue: every sensor would disconnect within 24 hours.

After some research, I discovered that using a proper SmartThings Hub instead of the Link might resolve this issue. Apparently, the Link runs on different firmware, which could be the root cause of the instability. I decided to give it a try and upgraded to a full SmartThings Hub.

The difference was night and day! The sensors remained connected consistently, and the automation rules worked flawlessly. If anyone else has experienced similar issues with the SmartThings Link, I highly recommend upgrading to a Hub. It’s a small investment that makes a big difference in reliability and performance.

If you’ve successfully integrated Xiaomi sensors with both the Link and Hub, I’d love to hear your experiences and any tips you might have! :rocket:
